Maslon's Family Law practice is diverse. The group is headed by William Mullin, currently President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Minnesota Chapter. Mr. Mullin has served on the Minnesota Supreme Court's Parental Cooperation Task Force, and received the Hennepin County Bar Association Family Law Section's Civility and Professionalism Award (2000). He has served as Chair of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association's Family Law Section. Mr. Mullin and the other attorneys in the Family Law practice section at Maslon have extensive experience in all areas of Family Law, including antenuptual agreements, family support, child custody/parenting time, arbitrations and mediations.

We assist clients with a full range of family law matters, including divorce/marriage dissolution, premarital agreements, spousal maintenance, child custody and visitation (parenting time), asset valuation and division, and post decree disputes. Our lawyers are experienced in handling a range of domestic issues, in both cooperative and adversarial environments.

We combine our legal expertise with personal service to bring about a result that is in the best interest of our clients and their families. We are committed to using mediation or other alternative forums, but we are well equipped to pursue litigation when necessary to resolve issues. Maslon family law lawyers often work closely with other lawyers in the firm to provide depth in complex matters relating to tax, benefits, estate planning, real estate, and business valuation.

Bill Mullin's practice primarily is devoted to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), including mediations, arbitrations and independent neutral evaluations. Before concentrating on ADR, Bill represented both husbands and wives in a variety of areas, including antenuptial agreements, valuation of businesses, real estate, stock options, custody, visitation, spousal support and child support, as well as a wide variety of commercial civil lawsuits. His experience includes extensive trials, arbitrations, appeals, motion practice, all aspects of pleading and discovery, case evaluation and settlement negotiation. Bill has taught Family Law as adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. He is a former President of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and has served as Chair of the Committee on Family law of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association.
