* Restaurant Industry: Members of the firm have represented restaurant companies since 1990. The firm primarily defends general liability and dram shop lawsuits across the country. In our national counsel role, we develop extremely close relationships with our clients and get to know their businesses. Through this, we counsel them on safety policies, procedures and handbooks, and assist them in taking a proactive approach to claims handling. We also represent our restaurant clients in contract disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, and employment law matters.
* Railroad Industry: The firm has over 20 years experience handling FELA, crossing accident and third-party injury litigation for major Class A railroads. As state counsel for the largest railroad in the United States, the firm defends FELA cases, crossing accidents, and handles commercial litigation and administrative/regulatory law matters. Les Gelhar is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the State of Minnesota. Mr. Gelhar previously achieved notable success as a plaintiff’s FELA attorney, but his railroad work is now devoted to the defense. * Retail/Grocery Industry: The general liability issues that restaurants face are the same that challenge the retail and grocery industries. The firm has represented major national and regional retail companies, helping them to successfully defend general liability lawsuits throughout the country.
